Who We Are
Founded in 2021, SHEKonnect brings practical life changing services to teen girls that have lost their mother.
It has been reported that, in a poll of 1,000 high school juniors and seniors, 90% indicated that they experienced the death of a loved one. These teens need mentors and trusted advisors to help them find ways to move forward without feeling invisible or alone.
SHEKonnect provides the appropriate resources and leadership to ensure their challenges are supported. Through our program, these girls can become fully prepared to lead a well-rounded and fulfilling life. They will learn a range of important life skills that will have a measurable impact in their lives, especially without the support of a mother.

What We Do
SHEKonnect is a program that prepares girls between the ages of 13 and 18 to meet the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood through a structured, progressive series of essential life skills lessons, interactive activities, and learning experiences that will help them to thrive emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
Girls participate in a 2-day workshop that may include personal development, mentoring, team building, community service, bonding with other girls who have lost their mother, along with financial literacy, and college readiness and career related skills that will last them a lifetime.
They will be able to explore various options, pursue realistic goals, and make good sound decision to allow them to thrive through transitioning into healthy, well-rounded, young ladies.

Our Founder
|
Deeply changed by the loss of her mother, SHEKonnect Founder Deborah Grant developed a program vision to empower teen girls who had lost their mother. The program is focused on teaching various life skills that if not learned could hold them back in the real world.
With Deborah’s experience, she knew learning basic life skills could be the difference between success and failure. Her goal is to prepare girls for real life challenges by giving them access to tools to effectively deal with everyday living, build individual strength, and provide a clear path to opportunities and success as they transition into responsible adults. Deborah Grant has had a long career in Human Resources in multiple executive leadership roles. She has partnered with large U.S. and global communities where she has worked to successfully transform companies through mergers and acquisitions. Deborah has an MBA in Human Resources and has worked in the field of Hi-Tech and renewal solar energy companies. She enjoyed working in changing environments and connecting people to essential programs. |
